Full Elevator Examinations

  • Refers to a systematic and detailed inspection of the elevator by an Approved Body with the purpose of improving elevator safety to an acceptable level, identifying serious risks that may require immediate intervention. It is mandatory for all elevators that were put into use for the first time by 31.12.2009. The interval between subsequent examinations must not exceed six (6) years for elevators installed in a workplace and ten (10) years for elevators installed in residential buildings or homes.

Periodic Elevator Inspections

  • It includes a series of examinations and aims to verify the proper functioning of the elevator's safety features and detect any defects that may occur during use or misuse. The periodicity is every year when the elevator is installed in a residential building or home, and every six (6) months when the elevator is installed in a workplace.
